What to Expect During the Procedure

This procedure is completely non-surgical. Instead of traditional incisions, only tiny nicks in the skin – often referred to as “freckle indents” – are made, requiring no stitches. A small injection cannula is then used. The treatment is performed under local anesthesia, similar to what you would receive at a dental office. Recovery is typically quick, with most patients returning to work within 3-4 days.

The procedure generally takes three hours, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas. The steps include:

The target area is first infused with a saline solution that contains a local anesthetic.
A very small incision, just 3-5 mm in size is, created. Through this opening, a slender cannula (tube) delivers a controlled stream of energy beneath the skin directly into the fat cells. This energy causes the fat cells to rupture, and the loosened fat is gently suctioned away. The heat produced during the process minimizes bleeding, swelling, and bruising, leading to faster healing. Stitches are not required.
Additionally, the liposuction stimulates collagen production, which continues to tighten and firm the skin over time.
