PRP for Facial Rejuvenation in Philadelphia, PA

As we age, many of us want a healthy, bright complexion and youthful appearance. However, aging is not kind to our skin. Stress and sun damage can compound the issue and make you look older than your age. Fortunately, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a natural solution that has powerful anti-aging properties to rejuvenate your appearance. PRP has been proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve your overall skin tone and texture, and increase collagen production. The Vampire Facial® and Vampire Facelift® are two quick and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures that offer lasting benefits to your skin texture and appearance.

What Is PRP?

Platelets are the cells that clot your blood when you are injured and tell your body’s tissue to heal and grow. These platelets release growth factors that increase the production of collagen and elastin, stimulate blood flow, and regenerate new cell growth. Many fields of medicine have started using Platelet-Rich Plasma as a natural way to speed up recovery and promote the growth of healthier tissue. PRP is used in minimally invasive cosmetic treatments for skin rejuvenation and vaginal rejuvenation. PRP can also help with hair restoration and prevent further hair loss by repairing damaged hair follicles and jumpstarting new hair growth.

Combining PRP with Facial Procedures

The PRP treatment can be added to many of our facial procedures to promote skin regeneration.

prp with microneedling

The Vampire Facial®

Do you want to reduce the visible signs of aging and improve the quality of your skin? The Vampire Facial or PRP facial procedure combines microneedling with PRP therapy to improve your skin’s texture, diminish fine lines, and give you that healthy glow. Microneedling creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin to trigger the body to create new collagen and elastin. This also allows for better absorption of the PRP, which is applied topically. A Vampire Facial can help reduce the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, crow’s feet, sun damage, uneven skin tone and texture, and crepey skin.

Vampire Facelift Philadelphia

The Vampire Facelift®

If you want to restore volume to and improve the contour of your face, the Vampire Facelift or PRP facelift can produce the desired effect! This procedure uses dermal fillers and PRP is strategically injected to activate new tissue growth and smooth your skin texture. Fillers add volume and help shape your face. Platelet-rich plasma also facilitates the growth of new blood cells, increasing circulation and leaving you with a radiant complexion. If you’re noticing that you look tired or your face is becoming droopy, the Vampire Facelift will provide smoother skin while increasing lift and tightness.

Lumen Tight

PRP with the Lumen Tight and Lumen Lift

Platelet-rich plasma therapy can be added to our facial skin tightening procedure, Lumen Tight, or our natural facelift, Lumen Lift. After the procedure, PRP adds a smoothing component to eliminate fine lines, wrinkles and sunspots. Both procedures combined will help you regain a youthful face and neck and tighter, smoother skin.

Benefits of PRP

Men and women of all ages and skin types can benefit from the restorative effects of PRP. Any area of skin can be treated, including the face, hands, upper torso and areas with stretchmarks. The growth factors found in PRP provide the following benefits:

"Dr. Kwak and his staff are very informative and really take the time to perfect their practice. I am more than happy with my results and found my procedure to be worth every penny spent."

The PRP Procedure

To prepare your PRP, a small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a machine called a centrifuge. During centrifugation, the platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased. A topical anesthetic is applied to your face for maximum comfort during the procedure. The PRP is used as a topical treatment for a Vampire Facial or via an injection for a Vampire Facelift. At LUMEN, we offer the Magellan TruPRPTM, system – the most advanced technology available to distill the purest and most effective PRP. There is no risk of an allergic reaction because PRP uses your own blood.

PRP Recovery and Results

The treatment area may be mildly red and swollen for a few days followed by a light flaking, similar to a mild sunburn. Downtime can last 2-3 days, but patients can resume normal activities immediately. Coverup can be used right away.

Results will begin to show 8 weeks following injection with optimal results at 12 weeks. Most patients will require 2-3 PRP treatments over a span of 3-4 months to achieve their desired outcome.
