PRP for Facial Rejuvenation in Philadelphia, PA

As we age, many of us want the healthy, bright complexion of our youth. However, aging is not kind to our skin. Stress and sun damage can compound the issue and make you look older than your age. Fortunately, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a natural solution that has powerful anti-aging properties to rejuvenate your appearance. PRP has been proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve your overall skin tone and texture, and increase collagen production.

What Is PRP?

PRP is a concentration of platelets in the blood that contains regenerative growth factors. When used for skin rejuvenation, PRP releases these growth factors into the skin to expedite the body’s repair process and stimulate new collagen and elastin.

Combining PRP with Facial Procedures

The PRP treatment can be added to many of our facial procedures to promote skin regeneration.

prp with microneedling

PRP with MicroNeedling

Commonly known as a “vampire facial,” the COSMOPen is used to create tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin. This triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin, which tightens the skin. When used with PRP, your skin is supercharged with growth factors that are strategically injected under the skin and applied topically.

prp with fraxel treatment

PRP with Fraxel Treatment

We treat patients with PRP following Fraxel treatment, similar to how PRP is administered after MicroNeedling. Fraxel laser treatments produce thousands of tiny, yet deep columns of treatment in your skin known as microthermal treatments zones (MTZ). This treatment penetrates deep into the dermis and eliminates old epidermal pigmented cells. PRP will only enhance the final result.

lumen tight

PRP with the Lumen Tight and Lumen Lift

PRP can be added to our facial skin tightening procedure, Lumen Tight, or our natural facelift, Lumen Lift. After the procedure, PRP adds a smoothing component to eliminate fine lines, wrinkles and sunspots.

Benefits of PRP

Men and women of all ages and skin types can benefit from the restorative effects of PRP. Any area of skin can be treated, including the face, hands, upper torso and areas with stretchmarks. The growth factors found in PRP provide the following benefits:

"Dr. Kwak and his staff are very informative and really take the time to perfect their practice. I am more than happy with my results and found my procedure to be worth every penny spent."
Sharon J.

The PRP Procedure

To prepare your PRP, blood is drawn and centrifuged in a special system. During centrifugation, the platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased.

PRP Recovery and Results

Your skin may be mildly red and swollen for a few days followed by a light flaking, similar to a mild sunburn. The overall recovery can last 2-3 days, but patients can resume normal activities immediately. Coverup can be used right away.

Results will begin to show 8 weeks following injection with optimal results at 12 weeks. Most patients will require 2-3 PRP treatments over a span of 3-4 months to achieve their desired outcome.
