What Is Non-Invasive Liposuction?

Non-invasive laser lipo reduces fat and contours the body without the need for surgery. Lipo not only removes stubborn fat and tightens skin, but is used for sculpting the body to reveal a smooth, more natural appearance. Unwanted fat that is removed in treated areas may also be used as filler for a facelift or transferred to the buttocks for a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.

The Laser Liposuction Procedure in Philadelphia

The procedure completely avoids surgery. Only small nicks (“freckle indents”) in the skin (no stitches) and a tiny injection cannula are needed. Local anesthesia is administered, similar to what is provided at a dentist office. Recovery time is fairly short with most patients back to work after 3-4 days.

Depending on the number and size of the areas, the procedure lasts approximately three hours and steps include:

  • The area to be treated is infused with a saline solution containing a local anesthetic.
  • Next, a very small 3-5mm incision is made in the skin. A tiny cannula (tube) delivers a precise stream of energy underneath the skin and directly into the fat cells. This causes the fat cells to burst, and the fat is gently suctioned out of the body. Heat from the device results in less bleeding, swelling, and bruising. It causes you to heal faster, and there are no stitches.
  • Liposuction also stimulates the growth of collagen, which will continue to tighten your skin.

Candidates for Non-Invasive Liposuction

You may be a good candidate for Liposuction if:

  • You have a Body Mass Index (BMI) under 30.
  • You have excess fat that has been resistant to diet and exercise. Areas include the abdomen, love handles, thighs, back, arms, chin/neck/jowls and areas with sagging skin.
  • You have an area or two of your body that is not in proportion to your body overall.

Some patients have larger or multiple areas to address, which can be effective with laser lipo. The procedure is not for everyone and is not a treatment for obesity or intended for weight loss.

Body Contouring with Lipo 360 and Lipo 360 BBL

One of our most popular procedures is Lipo 360, which contours and shapes the entire midsection – the abdomen, flanks (love handles), and lower back. When liposuction is performed on the front and sides of the midsection, the Lipo 360 body contouring procedure produces a natural-looking, balanced, and proportionate appearance.

If you want a fuller bottom in addition to a shapelier, more toned midsection, then a Lipo 360 BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) can help you achieve that vision. A BBL is a fat transfer procedure that repurposes the fat harnessed during your Lipo 360 procedure. The benefit of combining these procedures is that it sculpts the waistline and gives you that beautiful S-shaped curve. Lipo 360 with BBL provides more definition between the waistline and buttocks, highlighting your natural contours and best features.

The treatment is performed as an outpatient procedure in The Lumen Center office in Bryn Mawr, PA (near Philadelphia).

Liposuction can remove up to 5 liters of fat in a single session. You can expect that up to 90% of the subcutaneous (“pinchable”) fat in the treatment area will be removed.

You may start to see results within 1 week. Full results are expected within 4-6 months when the skin reaches optimal tightening.

Typically, only one treatment is needed to reach the desired result. Yes, multiple treatment areas can be addressed in the same session. A treatment plan is customized for each patient.

I recently had smart lipo and a bbl in November 2024. This procedure was done by Dr, Kwak. I am more than pleased with my overall results and finally have the body I always wanted . The surgery itself wasn’t bad at all with minimal discomfort. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. I always felt welcomed and that I was in good hands. The Recovery Process

The recovery process and downtime for the Liposuction procedure is fairly short with most people only taking 3-4 days off from work. Mild associated discomfort and bruising is common. A compression garment must be worn over the areas where the fat was taken for one month.

Lumen Center patients are carefully monitored post-procedure and at regular checkpoints for up to a year.
