If you want to move forward, a vaginal exam will be performed, and a topical anesthetic (numbing cream) will be applied to the clitoris and vagina. To prepare your PRP, blood is drawn and placed in a machine called a centrifuge. During centrifugation, the platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased. When the PRP is ready, very small needles will be used to gently inject the PRP into the vaginal wall and clitoris. Patients experience little to no discomfort.
