Proven Results with Industry-Leading Technology
Two Advanced Technologies, One Personalized Approach
No two hair loss patterns are exactly alike, which is why Dr. Kwak uses both ARTAS iX® and NeoGraft® to tailor your FUE procedure around your donor hair, thinning pattern, and desired coverage.
ARTAS iX® uses robotic imaging and mapping to identify and harvest healthy follicles with unmatched consistency.
Best for:
- Mapping larger donor areas with precision
- Selecting healthy follicles consistently
- Creating even coverage across broader thinning areas
- Minimizing variation during graft harvesting
- Patients who want a technology-driven FUE approach
NeoGraft® uses an automated handpiece that gives Dr. Kwak more direct control over graft harvesting and placement throughout your procedure.
Best for:
- Targeting smaller or more specific areas of hair loss
- Fine-tuning hairline shape and placement
- Adjusting graft distribution as treatment progresses
- Building density in areas that require detailed placement
- Patients who benefit from a more hands-on FUE approach

I highly recommend The Lumen Center for anyone considering a hair transplant. I had mine just under a year ago, and the results have been truly life-changing. Not only am I thrilled with how it turned out, but I’m also confident that choosing The Lumen Center was the best decision I could have made. The entire staff was exceptional, making me feel comfortable every step of the way. I couldn’t be happier with my experience!

I went to lumen a year ago for a consultation for a hair transplant and immediately felt comfortable and welcomed there. Since then, during the transplant and after they have been great in every aspect. Would recommend them everytime and continue using their services moving forward.

What to Expect Throughout Your Hair Transplant Process
Before Your Procedure
You’ll meet with Dr. Kwak to review your hair loss pattern, donor area, scalp condition, and goals for density and hairline shape before he builds your personalized treatment plan.
During Your Procedure
Dr. Kwak performs your FUE transplant under local anesthesia, harvesting individual follicles placing them into thinning areas with no strip removal, stitches, staples, or linear scar.
After Your Procedure
You’ll head home the same day with detailed aftercare instructions, and most patients are able to ease back into light daily activities within 1-2 days.
Hair Transplant Recovery Timeline
Days 1–3
Mild redness, swelling, soreness, tightness, or small scabs around the treated areas are normal and usually improve quickly.
Around Week 1
The donor area continues healing as scabbing and redness fade, and you’ll need to avoid rubbing, scratching, or disturbing the grafts.
Weeks 2-4
You can gradually return to more of your normal routine, while avoiding strenuous exercise, heavy sweating, direct sun, and anything that puts pressure on the grafts until you’re cleared.
Around 3 Months
Early new hairs may start to appear as the transplanted follicles move into an active growth phase.
Around 6 Months
Your coverage looks noticeably fuller as more transplanted hair grows in.
Around 12 Months
You’ll see your final results, with improved density and a hairline that blends naturally with your existing hair.

Is a Hair Transplant Right for You?
FUE may be a good option if you have thinning hair or a receding hairline and want to restore coverage using your own growing follicles.
During your consultation, Dr. Kwak will evaluate your scalp, donor hair, hair loss pattern, and goals to determine whether a transplant makes sense for you.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have a receding hairline or noticeable thinning
- Have enough healthy donor hair on the back or sides of your scalp
- Want a longer-lasting solution using your own follicles
- Are in good overall health
- Have realistic expectations about your density and growth timeline
- Want to avoid the linear scar left by traditional strip surgery
A hair transplant may not be right for you if you:
- Have very limited donor hair available
- Have advanced baldness without enough follicles to transplant
- Have an active scalp infection, irritation, or untreated skin condition
- Are experiencing rapidly progressing hair loss that may need to be stabilized first
- Expect immediate fullness rather than gradual growth
- Aren’t able to follow post-procedure care instructions
If FUE isn’t the best fit for your needs, Dr. Kwak may recommend other hair restoration options like PRP, scalp micropigmentation, or non-surgical hair loss treatments.
We’ll help you find the treatment that best matches your hair loss, goals, and available donor hair.

What to Know Before Your First Hair Restoration Visit
Why is FUE a better hair transplant option than FUT?
FUE removes individual follicles instead of taking a strip of scalp, which means no stitches, staples, or long linear scar. This allows for a shorter, more comfortable recovery and gives you more flexibility with shorter hairstyles.
Are hair transplant results permanent?
Transplanted follicles are taken from areas of the scalp that are typically more resistant to hair loss, so the results are long-lasting.
Your surrounding natural hair can still thin over time, which is why Dr. Kwak may recommend additional treatments to protect your results.
How long will it take to see final results?
Early growth can begin around 3 months, and more noticeable fullness develops around 6 months.
Most patients see their final result at about 12 months as the transplanted hair continues to mature.
How many grafts will I need?
Your graft count depends on how much hair loss you have, the quality of your donor area, and how much density you want to restore.
Dr. Kwak will evaluate your scalp during your consultation and recommend the number of grafts needed for a natural-looking result.
Will my hair transplant look obvious?
Dr. Kwak plans your hairline, graft angle, and density around your features and growth pattern, so your results develop gradually and look like your own hair.
Your Path to a Fuller, More Natural Hairline Starts Here
Thinning hair or a receding hairline doesn’t have to control your confidence anymore.
With advanced FUE technology and a personalized plan from Dr. Kwak, you can restore fuller coverage using your own naturally growing hair.
