Before surgery, Dr. Kwak administers local anesthesia to numb the target area, so you will be awake during the procedure. Just as with liposuction, he strategically places tiny incisions for accessibility to the target area, and the thin Renuvion handpiece is then inserted subdermally. The plasma technology emits a plasma beam that quickly heats to the ideal temperature and then cools the tissue in less than one second. This process causes the soft tissue to contract and stimulates collagen production. The application is gentle, yet the results are dramatic. Results are noticeable after the procedure and will continually improve while the skin heals and produces new collagen, usually within 6-9 months.

How Does Renuvion J Plasma Work with Liposuction?

While laser liposuction (or SmartLipo) has some skin tightening benefits, j plasma takes liposuction results to a new level in revealing a more contoured, tight appearance. It’s ideal for patients who have loose skin after a significant weight loss or are experiencing the effects of aging with mild to moderate skin laxity.

I recently had smart lipo and a bbl in November 2024. This procedure was done by Dr, Kwak. I am more than pleased with my overall results and finally have the body I always wanted . The surgery itself wasn’t bad at all with minimal discomfort. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. I always felt welcomed and that I was in good hands. My follow up visits were great and everyone seemed very knowledgeable of the entire process. I would definitely recommend The Lumen Center to anyone interested in this kind of cosmetic surgery. Renuvion J Plasma Recovery

Other more invasive surgical procedures, such as an abdominoplasty, require general anesthesia, can leave unsightly “hip to hip” scars, take longer to heal, and limit your activity. However, recovery time is short after the Renuvion procedure, the side effects are few, and most patients return to normal activities after a long weekend of minimal downtime. Small incisions (3-5 millimeters) are discreetly placed, so scarring is not noticeable. We may recommend wearing a compression garment to reduce swelling.
