The Lumen Center was founded in 2005 by Dr. Andrew Kwak, a minimally invasive surgeon, who is renowned for his artistry, attention to detail and producing natural-looking results.
The Lumen Center is located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and provides comprehensive cosmetic care for every stage of life: Skin care, spider and varicose vein treatments, hair transplants, and noninvasive face body contouring procedures. We provide the most innovative, gentle, and non-invasive techniques based on Dr. Kwak’s experience in developing minimally invasive procedures at Penn. Dr. Spalla uniquely combines a solid foundation of general surgery and facial plastic surgery with artistry and skill that achieves excellent results for his patients.
As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Spalla performs a broad range of body contouring and facial plastic surgery procedures. He brings his signature aesthetic procedures to The Lumen Center – blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), buccal fat removal, and the mini face lift. He is also well-versed in advanced body contouring techniques and performs liposuction and other cosmetic surgery procedures. Dr. Spalla worked closely with Dr. Kwak to become in expert in the distinctive “Lumen” approach to body contouring procedures that produce natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing results.
Stephanie has a thorough understanding of facial anatomy through both surgical and non-surgical procedures, including BOTOX®, Dysport, Juvéderm, Restylane, and other dermal fillers. Through these experiences, she provides her clients the best, most cost effective plan of care in order to achieve an optimal outcome. Her aesthetic eye, refined over 12 years of experience, has gained her recognition as a master injector and she is considered a leader in facial rejuvenation.
Ligia Coppinger, MSN, FNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner who received her bachelor’s in nursing from Rutgers University and her master’s in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Lumen, Ligia worked in the primary care and obstetrics areas, having delivered hundreds of babies over the years. She brings that same compassion and dedication to her role as aesthetic nurse injector at The Lumen Center. With a passion for women’s wellness and helping patients reach their goals, Ligia heads Lumen’s Women’s Wellness program. She is certified to perform the O-Shot®. treatment and provides ThermiVa and injectables. She was also personally trained by Dr. Andrew Kwak to perform PRP treatments for hair loss and facial rejuvenation.
Dana Phillips has been a practicing Licensed Aesthetician for over 20 years. Some of her specialties include dermaplaning, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), laser skin resurfacing, laser skin tightening, body sculpting, tattoo removal and microneedling. Dana always looks for the best combination of treatments and skin care products to customize her patient’s specific skin care needs.
